JUST A BUNDLE OF LETTERS

Just a bundle of letters,
Tied with a string.
But, oh, what memories
Those letters do bring.

Here’s one from mother,
Mailed two years ago.
Why I’ve kept it,
I do not know.

A note from dad,
It’s lonely and blue.
It made me feel sad,
And forlorn, too.

A bit of cheery news
From the kid-brother,
Makes me wish
That he’d write another.

Just a bundle of letters,
Faded and old
But, oh, what memories
Those letters do hold!
